Jebel Jais Mountain

The highest point in the United Arab Emirates is Jebel Jais Mountain, which is in the Hajar Mountains in the northwest. Between Oman and the eastern United Arab Emirates, the Hajar Mountains started forming 70 million years ago (UAE). It is close to Ras Al Khaimah, one of the most beautiful coastal and mountainous emirates in the United Arab Emirates. Adventurers, thrill-seekers, and people who love nature come to this mountain for its fantastic thrill rides and beautiful views. Read “Things to Do in Jebel Jais” to learn more about driving from Dubai to Jebel Jais.

Dubai is far from Jebel Jais. Ideas for a day trip: Jebel Jais, outside of Dubai. The route is 167.3 km long and is called Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road/E-311. It is 168.1 km if you take E 611 and Emirates Road. If you don’t stop for anything along the way, it takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to get to the top. But there are a few places along the way with great views that are worth stopping at for a while. Even though the roads are in great shape, you shouldn’t drive there after dark because accidents are more likely on the hilly terrain when it’s dark.

When It’s Best To Go

Between October and April. Weekends and holidays are usually busy, but weekdays are generally quiet.

A small group of food trucks about 1.5 miles from the top has a place to park, an observation deck, and places to sit outside. You can buy food from mobile vendors and eat it while looking out at the mountains and valleys. There is also a place to change out of dirty clothes. Pizza, pasta, coffee, tea, Masala chai, ice cream, cola, and ice slush are all vegetarian options. There are picnic tables in a grassy area with a broad view of the mountains. It’s best to bring extra food and lots of water/juices with you since there aren’t any big restaurants or shops at the top of the mountain. This is to keep the beautiful environment from getting ruined.

Tips For Camping:

  • When camping, you should bring tents, sleeping bags, blankets, and anything else you might need.
  • Bring along some snacks and your grilling tools.
  • Don’t forget to bring trash bags to help keep the outside area clean. It’s not allowed to throw trash on the ground.
  • Only camp in places that are allowed, which are often close to scenic lookouts. There is also a portable bathroom there.
  • Camping in the UAE is a safe choice.
  • Don’t be rude, and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Since there aren’t many places to eat, you should bring a lot of food and drinks.
  • There is a chance it will be unexpectedly cold at night, so bring warm clothes. People say that it snowed in the Jebel Jais area in the past.
