How To Make A Homemade Makeup Remover

When I think that my grandmother used Nivea cream both to take care of her skin and to remove makeup, I realize that the cosmetic industry has made our lives much easier. I’m not saying that Nivea isn’t good for everything. But now we have at hand the best face creams, makeup, and good makeup remover to eliminate that piece of look that we have made ourselves to go out on a Saturday night.

And all this in small bottles suitable for each type of skin.

Luxury is available to everyone.

But, I also stop to think many times that those ladies of years ago, using only one product, had enviable skin.

Most of the grandmothers I have known had rosy, slightly wrinkled faces that contrasted with shiny white hair ( no need for toning shampoos ).

We are still making mistakes by throwing so much in our faces.

Or no, I don’t know, I’m just thinking out loud.

The fact is that I’m always trying new things. And if I’m honest, although I love buying and trying postings when I notice my skin the best is when I stop.

I have already said it on occasion. When I take a vacation and all I do is follow a good cleansing routine and apply my moisturizer is when I see my skin happier.

And that leads me to believe that the less I miss and the more natural it is, the better.

This is how less is more in fashion, well the same.

And I am the first one who loves to deep clean, apply tonics, micellar waters, eye contours, serums, night creams, day creams, protection factor, anti-blemish cream, oil for I don’t know what, eyelash serum … but join, sometimes it is even exhausting.

I repeat that I love it, eh? But if we add to that the thousand hair and body products, plus those for daily grooming, there is no Ikea shelf to hold it, nor a credit card either.

That is why I have thought that from time to time I will try to make my homemade cosmetics.

It can be cool, right? what do you think?

I have already tried many homemade masks and I am always delighted because I feel like they do something for my skin.

So since the first contact has been so good, I thought about continuing with something that for me is essential, the makeup remover.

Cleaning is essential to have a splendid complexion and for that, before any care product, you must remove all the dirt from the skin. If not, it’s not going to be worth anything to you, I’ll tell you.

So I said to myself “try and get a homemade make-up remover, and see what happens.” And to that, I have put myself.

First, I learned about various substances and I opted for the one that was best for my skin. I have done a mini-test first and seeing that the result was good, I made a homemade make-up remover with enough quantity for a week.

And how sharing is beautiful (as they say out there), because I had no choice but to tell you.

So grab a pen and paper, take a screenshot, or bookmark this article because I’m going to show you how to make your own homemade eye makeup remover.

Homemade Eye Make-up Remover

Let’s start where I start the makeup removal, with the eyes.

When I was a teenager, I would remove makeup in that way and the next day I would wake up with traces of mascara in my eyes and under my eyes. The outline was not completely gone and … poof! Now I think about it and I get in a bad way when it happens to me.

I can’t stand getting up like a panda bear. We all love to wake up with a clean and beautiful face, of course. I have tried thousands of makeup removers, but the landlord has surprised me for good.

This is not to say that I will never use commercials again, but I already have a more sustainable alternative at my fingertips.

Biphasic

When I’m lightly made up, anything, no matter how little I do, will remove a bit of mascara and foundation. But when I do my makeup, which by the way you can see on Instagram, I need more, much more.

And that’s where biphasic comes in.

You already know that these types of products have an oily part that is what drags all the shit from the eyes. Well, you can get a homemade biphasic much easier than you think.

To make this homemade biphasic eye makeup remover you need:

  • An empty jar.
  • A funnel.
  • Distilled water or rose water.
  • Castor oil.
  • Almonds oil.

Put the funnel in the jar and carefully add the distilled or rose water. If you put the latter you will be benefiting from its properties such as freshness, softness, and calming effect it has.

Fill the jar leaving 20%, more or less free to add the rest of the products.

Add a centimeter of castor oil which you will get, in addition to removing make-up, and incredible eyelashes, and another centimeter, with which you will finish filling the bottle, with almond oil.

And ready.

Like any biphasic, you have to move it well before using it so that the oil part mixes well with the water.

Here is the sample of how she removes makeup that I know is what interests you the most.

By the way, if by chance you do not have these oils and it is not possible for you to buy them, do not worry, you can replace them with olive oil. It does the same, removes makeup well, and is great for lashes.

Homemade Facial Make-up Remover

Moving on to the face, you have to differentiate what type of skin you have so that it is as suitable as possible for you.

Oily Skin

If you have oily skin you need special pampering. I tell you from experience. For many years I had the worst complexion in my city. I’m not exaggerating. Acne, blemishes, shiny skin all day, everything bad that you can have, I had it.

So I know you need something simple but effective against all that.

Go to the fridge and get:

  • Half natural yogurt (the other half you can eat).
  • A few drops of lemon juice

It couldn’t be simpler, huh?

Add the lemon drops to the yogurt and you’re done. Prepared facial makeup remover.

Mix well and go over the face and neck, gently removing it with a cotton pad to complete the facial cleansing.

Lemon has astringent and antibacterial properties that make it an excellent make-up remover for oily skin and even those with acne problems.

Then you can use a neutral soap to finish removing the remains of yogurt and start your daily routine.

And don’t worry, that oily skin right now will change over time. Acne is not forever. And the best part is that oily skin tends to wrinkle less, so I’m going to make your day by telling you that when you reach 40 you will look 10 less.

That is the gift that oily skin leaves us after so much suffering, zero wrinkles.

Dry Skin

Today I have quite normal skin. At certain times it dries out due to weather conditions or stress. And that is when the skin makes you feel uncomfortable, right?

Well, if this is your case, take note.

  • 200 milliliter of olive oil.
  • 10 grams of soy lecithin.
  • 10 grams of lemon juice.

Mix everything in a container until you get a kind of homogeneous makeup remover cream and store it in a jar.

Before using it, shake well to mix and unify the components and apply them every night to your face, with the help of make-up remover cotton, spreading it until no dirt remains.

This is the closest thing to removing makeup with cleansing milk. And although now it seems that it is a bit out of use, it is the best for dry skin because it hydrates it a lot while it removes makeup.

This mixture, in addition to perfectly removing makeup and cleaning completely, has antioxidant properties, which will give you a more rejuvenated appearance. Olive oil, lemon, and soy lecithin are rich in vitamin C and E. As well as cleaning and nourishing in depth.

You’ll see how you like it.

Sensitive Skin

This type of skin also has its own.

It’s like she’s mad at the world and everything’s wrong with her.

Mine has a sensitive part too (yes daughter, I have it all).

And I know that many makeup removal products irritate the skin from alcohol or certain preservatives. So this is yours so that when removing makeup is not an ordeal. You only need:

  • Aloe vera gel.
  • Make-up remover pads or cotton.

The aloe vera gel, thanks to its texture, easily removes makeup. And also leaves the skin clean and with more shine. It is good for all skin types, but it is perfect for you who have sensitive skin. As it contains nutrients and elements that do not cause allergic reactions.

Using it is just as simple as doing it, you put the aloe on the cotton or disc and remove the makeup has been said.

When you’re done, rinse and pat dry.

I advise you to do it better with reusable discs because the others, and even the cotton, begin to fray, and you are left with a face full of white pieces stuck together.

What Is The Best Natural Makeup Remover?

I have it very clear, that coconut oil is the best home desmaquillante in the world.

In addition to removing luxury makeup, it has multiple properties and benefits that it brings to the skin. The coconut oil makeup remover is ideal for removing makeup from all skin types. Even the most sensitive and acne-prone ones.

Works great with eye looks, removing the deepest dirt from waterproof makeup.

Just apply a small amount of coconut oil to the skin, and massage gently. And remove the remains with a makeup remover pad.

I promise you that it is what I use today every time I have to remove a look that I do for my social networks (I had already said that right?). Well, it’s the same, if you feel like it. I’ll wait for you there.

As you will see, all homemade makeup removers need fewer decorations than a Christmas tree in February. Therefore they are cheap, you have everything at home and it will not take you time to prepare it.

And if you allow me, I give you one last piece of advice

The first time you are going to use any of them, do just a little, to try only one day. This way you will see if you like how clean and such. If you see that you like it, you can make more quantities to have it prepared for each day.

Of course, remember that they are natural. And therefore it does not contain chemicals and alcohol that preserve them. So do not make too much or it will get worse. With the preparation of a week or so, it goes great and always keep it in the fridge.

In case you want homemade makeup removers like I do, only for specific moments, here are the ones that, for me, are the best makeup removers on the market.
